NCFR enhance Catholic Women's Association in Sovele with Leadership training

The Nazareth Centre for Rehabilitation (NCFR) conducted a five-day leadership training for the members of the Catholic Women's Association in Sovele, Bana District from the 24 to 28 August. The training provided an opportunity for the Catholic women leaders to strengthen their knowledge, leadership skills and confidence to better serve and support their communities.
Participants reflected on their important role as women leaders within the church and community, discussing ways to strengthen communication, teamwork, participation and postive leadership. The training also provided a safe space for participants to share their experiences, discuss challenges affecting women and families, and identifying practical ways they can can contribute to stronger and more peaceful communities.
A key focus was the importance of inclusive leadership and ensuring that women, young people, persons with disabilities and other community members are heard and included in decisions that affect their lives. Through group discussions and practical activities, participants were encouraged to view leadership not simply as holding a position, but as responsibility to listen, serve, support and inspire others.

Strong women's leadership is an important foundation for building safer, more peaceful and inclusive communities. Through this training, NCFR continues to strengthen the capacity of Catholic women leaders to play an active role in promoting change within their communities. The five-day training in Sovele reflects NCFR's commitment to strengthen women's leadership and contribute to sustainble community development across Bougainville.
